Born in Ghana, he started his education at the Roman Catholic Primary and Middle schools in his village. He trained as a teacher at Saint Andrew’s Training College, Mampong Ashanti, where Mrs. Ellen Geer Sangster, a former Creative Writing Advisor to the Ministry of Education, introduced him to creative writing. He entered the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), and graduated with Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree. He proceeded to the Universities of New Haven, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, Amherst (United States) where he received his MBA and PhD degrees respectively. He is Professor Emeritus of Management & International Business, Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, New York. Creative writing is his hobby.
